So far one quail and one chicken have hatched! My only question is is that if chickens should hatch in 21 days and it has only been 18, then what's up with that one chicken? I was expecting quail today but the chickens were not supposed to hatch until the 26.

Where did you get these eggs? From your flock or shipped?

If any of these eggs were kept in a warm environment for any length of time, this egg and sometimes others, could have started to develop before you set them. So this one would hatch early. This can happen sometimes.

Just keep going on the process and hopefully more babies hatch out soon!
 
This egg was one that I got from someone else who may have kept them in a warm environment. Thank you for clarifying!

We have two more chickens that hatched yesterday! The quail were supposed to hatch two days ago,so should I get rid of the quail eggs that did not hatch?
 
Our little quail died yesterday morning.

I gave him a proper burial once I found him. We will miss you little fella!! Anyway, another chicken hatched this morning!
