I just bought a little coop and fixing it up a bit. When it is ready, a friend will give us three of their Buff Orpington hens. Hoping we do alright with them...so much to learn! I am happy to have found this site and will be a regular here as I start my chicken adventure. I live in the city and have a small yard but I keep hearing it is possible to have chickens in a small area so we'll see how that goes!

Thank you! I can't wait to update when my new feathered friends move in. My family thinks my predator concerns are over the top but I'm ignoring them...I will take no chances as raccoons have been seen in our neighborhood. I'm horrified at what they'll do if they have a chance. So beefing up the coop is top priority for me
