Just large Orpingtons.

Ha ha chooks are funny that way, when they are settled nothing can move them.

I breed Blue orps and they not rare round where I am(Down Under).
I really like this color because you can get 3 different colors out of the same pen(Blue, black and splash).
We also just recently got our hands on some 'in the making' Crele orps. The hens are of good color but we are working on getting their size up. One Roo is a wonderful size but he is not true 'crele' yet, he is cuckoo x partridge.
The other roo is a wonderful crele color but not a good size so we are thinking of crossing him with some beautiful buff hens that we got from the same breeder.
The really are a wonderful breed!

I saw pictures of the crele. Those are my favorite next to the lemon cuckoo.

Had to evacuate Sunday night due to a hell blazer, My daughter loaded up my lemon cuckoos, 2 laying buffs, and one buff roo. I couldn't get the horses in the trailer before we had to leave. SO all I could get out of all our pets was those few chickens, 1 cat, and the dog. I grabbed my laptop and my camera, a few clothes... that was it. The evaced us through 5 miles of fire on both sides of the road. Thank the Lord for prayer. We are home safe and everyone okay.

So glad to hear that you and your family came through OK and are safe. You must have had a terrible time waiting and worrying about your home and animals.

Bless the firefighters. We had a house catch fire close to us last month, and the quick response of the firefighters kept it from spreading. Could have been very bad around here. Dry, dry, dry!

I only have one hatchery Buff Orp named Peach. She just started laying last week, a very pale brown egg, which is nice as most of the others lay med brown. She is a lovely character! She's so wide and round but can really scoot across the yard if she thinks there's something good to eat!

This is Miss Peach a month or so ago when she was still svelte. I need to take some new pics; she looks so different now!

Yes all seems well, there were 2 or 3 homes lost. The heat was the prolem 114 the day it started 116 the next day. The chickens are still laying, just really slow. I cried when my gelding came up to me for a hug, I was so upset that I had to leave them. I've had him for 17 years, he's my baby. The Lord took care of us.

The firefighters are incredible, there were house standing amidst the blaze, everything around theme gone. The sheriffs and CHP even Department of forestry wee all assisting in the evac of our community, 400+ homes worth. Our phones went out at the start of the fire, AT&T has been workin around the clock to fix it. Some locals stayed behind with their dozers to help with fire breaks, and other stuck it out and helped take care of the animals, Animal control evacuated many animals. One of the first houses to take on the inferno was home of my Fillies Sire, he's an old guy, but someone got him out in time. The owner just found him today.
