Just lost my first hen?

Just lost my first chicken - hubby said she was listless last night but put her in the hen house. Today she was outside and dead. What do I need to look for if anything to prevent the other girls from the same fate. She was only a year old. I think it's one of my leghorns - they lay monstorous eggs - could she die from egg bound? Any suggestions?

She was probably egg-bound, but I don't know how, or if you can prevent that.
