Just lost my sweet 7 YO BR. I know she lived a long time, but I still wasn't ready to give her up. She was one of the last things my mother bought for me before she became ill. My mom died last year. It's like another piece of her (my mom) is gone.

Most likely, my baby hen had a tumor. I was hoping she would at least last the summer.

So very sorry for your losses. :hugs

Sorry to here that. Hope he wasn't sick too long. My mom had dementia for several years. It was like we lost her before we lost her.

Dementia is the worst. My mom stopped talking, walking and basically functioning from the onset of her disease. It was years of intense around the clock care.

My dad's mind made him basically go crazy, he got peranoid starting accusing people of things was horrible last years of his life. Very sad disease, I believe worse than some types of cancer.

Completely agree that dementia is worse than most cancers or anything else. To lose your mind or even watch someone lose it is indescribable.

We've had other family members die of heart disease and cancer. It's much easier to talk with someone until the end.

My mom's was genetic. Her sister died of the same thing. Hope that isn't the case for you.

I don't think so, his mom lived into her 90s till she broke her hip while living alone lol. Her dementia set in after that. How sad for your past family.
