Alright, so the run I have for my three chickens (when I get them lol) is 12 ft long by 9 feet wide. It is a stationary run, but they will probably be in there only when I am in school. There is always somebody home here, and because we are bad habit smokers, we spend most of the time out in the yard. The coop will house one or two laying boxes, depending if they believe "sharing is caring" or not. They will only be in the coop, locked up, from about 8pm to 6am. Other then that they will have the run of the yard, and will be enjoying the many bugs that are killing my poor peach tree!

So if they are free range for the majority of the time, will a 12 x 9 run suffice for about 2-4 hours a day? Thanks

I will have THREE chickens, two EE and one Barred Rock. Hopefully hens :-D

LoL! You guys are such bad influences hahahaha! I totally would, but sadly I am flying under the radar. Plus, the coop I have is only big enough to fit 2-3 birds. Believe me though, when I get a house with land I will have me an entire flock! I want a rooster terribly, they are so beautiful. But sadly they are soooo not allowed here in Sacramento.

I am glad to hear the size is good enough, I like it to be roomy if anything.

I am so very excited. If I had everything completely in order I would be at the feed store right this second picking out my little group. The only thing I need now is a heat lamp, but that will have to wait until payday Friday. I can hardly sleep thinking about getting them! Sad I know.. But I am a softie.

LoL! I will let you know as SOON as I win the CA lottory and can purchase a house with some acreage! Really though, whenever I am able to get a Roo I will want a Barred Rock boyo. I think they are so beautiful with their pinstriped suits! Or I could just set them loose on the Capitol lawn.

ARNOLD! LEGALIZE THESE BUGGERS! Look how pretttttty and show offy they are!

LoL
