I think it is a sign that I have been sleeping in too much on my summer break from teaching! The past few days, I have been getting up earlier (6:00, rather than 9:15 ish!) and my girls DO NOT want to get up! It is hilarious to witness, and I can't really capture it here, but I have to laugh the whole time I am out there!

I put out their morning veggies and fruits and they usually race down the ramp to get to the blueberries first. The past few mornings I get a few clucks when I open the door and do my usual morning greetings, but no one jumps down from their roosts. I thought chickens were supposed to be morning "people"!!!

Whoo-ha! That is too funny. Poor babies - getting their beauty sleep interrupted!

I've got the opposite going on. Last month my Dad took a little vacation and I watched his cats for him. Which means that I had to leave the house about an hour early - 5 instead of 6. Well, ever since then, the girls are up and waiting at the door for me. There's a mad rush with lots of pushing and shoving to get outside and MUCH grumbling and grumpiness - about being delayed I guess.
