So I went to WalMart to get some rat traps for dealing with the aforementioned chick killers. The only thing they had were those big glue traps. I stuck them way up under the coop.
An hour later, one of my baby guineas was completely stuck to the trap, screaming his head off.
No idea how he'd gotten out in the first place.
The BF and I spent 10 minutes carefully prying him off the trap. He is unharmed, but very very sticky and extremely offended. Actually, that description applies to me too.
Sigh.
(Edit: not whining here, this is all highly ridiculous and I'm hoping it makes someone laugh!)

the glue traps didn't work for us either. Imanaged to catch a mess load of bedding with those though.

I had to get the safety traps, they are plastic, the mouse gets in but can't get out. Found them at ACE. Outside the coops and runs i use the back breakers where there is no chance of the girls getting to them

Awww, well at least your guinea is okay. I'm sure he'll regain his dignity by tomorrow

What about trying your local TSC or Co-Op? Hardware store? You may have to get them online.

If your guinea keets are able to get into the glue traps, be extra careful where you set those snap traps! I think you can get them at Home Depot & Lowe's, even at some grocery stores. I like them because they're re-useable and you know for certain when you've gotten one. Some folks drive nails up through the bottom alongside the bait pedal, to really hold them after they've been snapped.

I also use Just One Bite bars, and find them effective. If you're worried about your chicks or other pets eating them you can make a T from PVC, lay it upside down along a wall & drop the bait down the center stem so it lands in the middle of the cross part.

If your guinea keet was able to sneak out through a hole then a rat or weasel or snake can get in. Maybe extra wire or mesh is needed to predator proof against these little @#*@*#'s?
Good luck!

Gads! Poor little guy. I hate those glue traps. I tried them once and was horrified. A more inhumane way of killing mice was never devised. I have had to dispatch several mice that were trapped, but not dead on those. Yuck! What's worse is when they rip themselves apart trying to get free. Gruesome. I don't like mice, but I don't feel the need to torture them either.
