Is this normal??? I bought my birds from a breeder who said that her colors are all seperate. I was bathing them today for the first time and the pullet had a few grayish/black specks about two or three and the male had a bunch of silver strands in his tail. I am no expert so I wanted to post and see what you thought. I was going to breed this pair next year but if that is a fault I want to know so that I can sell/swap them.

Thanks for you help

I can not see it now that they are dry. It was only when they were wet and all of the feathers were down flat. I will try and find it again and post a pic. I am thinking that maybe they are white recisive and some where down the line there was another color in their lineage. Does that make any sense?

"Silver" could be considered the purest white, as it never yellows due to diet or sun. It sounds like you may be looking at black leakage.
