just ordered my first set of chickies!!!!

i just ordered my first set of baby chickies from MPC. they should ship by june 1. the reason so late is because i'm only ordering 6 (i'm only allowed 4 in the city). but i think six is a good number incase 1-2 die ir end up being roos, or both. if they all survive andend up females, well, i may have to find at least one a new home. we'll see. can't really hide it when i live on the corner and my whole back yard is exposed to the street. i ordered 1 australorp, 1 delaware, 1 leghorn, 1 rhode island red, 1 speckled sussex, and 1 silver laced wyandotte. i can't wait. now i have to really start building my coop.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. Good luck with you chicks. Maybe you should plant some bushes on your property line to block the view, if you are allowed that is.

i am but my husband won't let me. we have a garden that is about 10-15 ft along the sidewalk. i'm thinking of putting lattice standing up on it so things can climb. i think that will help alot.

Congrats! --- getting chicks before the coop is built does provide some motivation! Hope it all works out well for you in the city.
