O'yeah...........just picked up my Game Chicken chicks! I got 11-Black Shamo, 10-Thai, 3-Asils, 1-Maylay & had to get 2-Russian Orloffs for the heck of it, The Orloffs are sexed, got a male & a female. The rest of the chicks are a straight run. Got these chicks from a guy in Amherst, WI. He gets his chicks from down south & then sells them for $2.25 each up here. I'll be happy to see how the Thai & Shamo turn out........Drove down & picked them up yesterday moring, so far all chicks seem strong & I haven't lost 1. One thing I noticed on the Game/Fighting chicks is that they sure to fight alot more in the booder than say Barnyard chicks/laying breed Chicks. Was nice to pick the chicks out instead of getting mailed to me.

I payed $5.00 for a hen & Rooster Russian Orloff chicks............bought them for the heck of it just to try them out, so far they seem to be very high strung just like the Oriental Games the way they act.

Doesn`t sound like you know what you just got yourself into Mader. I`m a fancier of oriental games and have, at one time or another, owned all the breeds mentioned, except the Orloff. I can tell ya that they are not your typical barnyard types and you should start immediately preparing seperate pens for the males, called stags in gamefowl terms. All of the stags will need their own pen at an early age. The larger breeds will be more docile for a while, but Asils in particular are hard to raise because of their aggressive natures and strength. Some bloodlines are problems befor they are fully feathered and by that I mean broken necks, wings, legs, etc. Very strong and aggressive birds. Don`t wait, start building pens now and be ready when you have a problem. All those breeds are magnificent in their own right, but they CANNOT be penned together at whatever age they begin to "turn on". As hard as they are on each other, most are very gentle and easy for humans to handle. Head my advise........Pop

Sage advice. I would like to ad that when you go about building pens for the young stags you must make sure they cannot get ahold of each other through the wire. Solid wood divides or wire pens spaced well apart from one another are the way to go.

I've got pens set up already................
