Gamebird starter, break the size of the starter down with a roller pin,or grind real fine. best not to wet the starter,as if will spoil.

Suger water the first day. Watch they dont drown,or get wet. Biggest killer for beginners is the quail chicks get wet or drown.

Looks likes my guess will be near your count.

Let us know what your total hatch is on the Quail.

GREAT JOB JIM!!! bet you like the sportsman.

Thankies man

If you have a small wired cage you could put those ones in it and the toes should straighten right out. Or put them on wood chip bedding. I had a few of my buttons do that, and that's what I did.

I had 10 or 11 quail hatch today, I opened the bator to take a photo and two jump;ed out, I grabbed them, took the photo and put the lid down,
walked away, heard something, two were on the carpet, I picked them up, found another in a Chrismas card box on the table just sitting there............ I got them all back in, walked around the table, all seems quiet. told my family, what ever you do don't lift that lid!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah....lol kinda like that! They were falling everywhere. Like a really bad roach infestation!!

We built a wooden frame to set around the incubator to catch the little buggers when they run out - especially the button quail. Works really well.
