o.k. ,,, i PROMISE ,,,, lol,, i think the total MUST be over 60 now,,, is REALLY hard to tell hehehe,, and in the back i think i see 3 of my chicks hatched,, their a day behind the quail

i guess i musta counted a few of my fingers too many times when i was doin the math and dates

Question please, hatching quail eggs. Do folks raise them for eating, eggs..... or to set free down the road? Or to simply keep like chickens?

all of the above,,,, cept setting them free,,, i THINK,, you need special permission from wildlife to set birds free,, then i think it MUST be a native species.

Coturnix are not native to North America. They've tried to establish them by releasing 100's of thousands of them with no luck - so there isn't actually much to worry about if they were released to the wild.

The coturnix quail are great because they will be laying at 8-9 weeks of age. Eggs galore.

The bobwhite quail is native to the US, and the mountain and valley quail are native to some parts, though scarce today. I wouldn't mind hatching valley quail to replenish the wild. I don't have a permit to release them, but I could let them "free range".

o.k.,,, notha quail question,,,,,, how many days after they hatch can they stay in the bator?,, know chickens are 3 days,,, but have no idea bout the quail.
