Oh no, you not back yet? Fingers crossed everything's o.k. You did mention your chicken sitter is not a chicken person. Maybe broody took a little break? But at least you are guaranteed some chicks anyway, that's quite cool of her.
My babies are due Monday, may be some on Sunday, they often come a day early. Can't wait!
Oh, the hen didn't do a single poop in the washing basket. She gets up every day and goes outside for a toilet break. Good girl!

Thanks! We have recently added another chick to the pen with them. We had a broody sitting on 6 eggs and one of them decided to hatch a few days early at day 17! I'm thinking this egg was collected by my aunt a few days earlier than the others. But when it hatched Mama wouldn't sit on the eggs with it in there so we had to intervene. I'm hoping she will raise the others but I guess we will find out!!

I just got a email from the lady that said I could have some chicks free, she is now saying eggs!! Crap I am angry, I emailed back and asked for chicks hoping for some good feedback!!!!

My babies are due tomorrow/Monday. Mom's been sitting like a rock, hasn't been up since two days ago. Might have to edit my post about no poops in the basket

Two hatches so far! Only one infirtle egg, the rest are still just pips. I did have to help one out because it was in breach position though. 11 more wednesday/thursday, and 9 mor next week!

same here mine due to hatch sept 23 i have a grey roo, rir hen , and a silkie cross hen can't wait to see what i get hope i get a sexlined chicken or some other type or cross breed chicken

They're hatching

Gosh, I was getting worried. The first eggs are on day 22, the rest day 21.
Two chicks so far, one black and one blond, the black one hatched quick! I heard the peeps, checked, saw it pip, zip the eggshell and out, under 5min. I suspect the dad's one of my favourite roo's, a lovely black/red boy I raised from day old. So I guess that makes me a granny
Will post pics tomorrow or so, depends how the hatch goes.
