No chickens yet, but here's the coop I put together with the help of my wife.

And yes, I know some people believe pre-fabs are trash, but this will be our first attempt at having chickens, and we are still learning.

The next coop I plan to build myself.

Looks great! You’ll find out if you like having chickens and will develop a better idea of where/type of coop to have if you build something else. My neighbor has a very similar prefab that he left in the run when he built a better/larger coop for his birds. They love to hang out in the shade in it!

Have fun with your chickens!

I too started with a prefab like this. In the end the prefab gave me time to learn what I really needed in a big coop when I built my own. It's not a bad strategy. Just be careful of overcrowding. They don't hold as many as they say.

I have this exact coop. I love it! For a tiny group of bantams... no way would I stuff a bunch of standard sized chickens in there. For what I use it for its perfect. Congratulations!

I believe it says it holds 8 chickens, but we are not going to go over 6.

Just something to keep in mind, IDK what kind you are planning on getting but a really large breed like Brahma or Cochin probably will not be able to fit through the door at the top of the ramp.
