My plans were a hoop run attached to my coop that is 3/4 finished.
I didn't think about the height of the hoop when making my door. Door height is at 7'. I think the hoop is only 6'. Kicking myself for not thinking about this. :he

I want a door on the run side so cleaning the coop would be easier. I do have a door on the back side of the coop also.

Thinking of making it a Dutch door.

Put the hinges on the other side so the door opens inwardly.

I thought of that, but I'd have to rework the door completely as it made to sit against the outside wall. If I moved it to the inside, the door would have to made to sit in the framing of the coop.

I'd probably put the hoop run on a 18 inch tall framework and cover the frame with 18 inch hardware cloth either that or make the door shorter and fill in the opening at the top with a small frame and a peice of matching siding over it to kinda blend it in. I'd go for the raised hoop though because of my hight. at nearly 6ft id have to bend over to go anywhere but down the center of the hoop. and bending is getting harder and harder to do especially if i'm carrying things or doing work. Let us know what you decide. probably lots of ways to skin this cat be interesting to see how you do it.

I think I'm going to cut the door in half and add a trim piece to cover the seam. Like a Dutch door. When it's closed, you would never know is a "short" door.
If I decide to give up having chickens at some point, then at least I have a full door to use once the run is removed.
