Hello everyone! I just received my first batch of hatching eggs!! I am nervous and excited at the same time! A little worried since they were shipped on Saturday and I didn't receive them until today. I hope they didn't get too cold! Had 1 egg that was cracked and made a mess of the paper towels on that side of the carton, but all in all, they look nice. I am totally inexperienced and this website has been a godsend. I have read and reread for so long in my attempt to get educated before I started. But now that they are here, I feel totally unsure of everything! I was told to wash them with mild bleach water after I received them, but after reading the posts here, I have decided they are quite clean enough. I'm letting them sit for 18 hours at room temp before putting them in the incubator. Any and all advise is welcome!

Your doing fine. don't forget to leave them point down while they rest. What are they? good luck keep us posted

I have Black Copper Marans. I have them resting next to the incubator, pointed end down. I planned on dry incubation, but even though the humidity in the room is 55%, the gauge in the incubator is reading 20%. Is this too low to start? I have an all house humidifier built into the furnace, plus a humidifier running in the room. Hubby bought another humidifier on his way home and I am starting it up. I guess I will just turn the office into a sauna for about 4 weeks!
