Today we rescued a hen. It is a long story, but a neighbor brought her home last night from a job site and told me he did not want it because he thought it was a rooster. I told him that she was just a very big (tall) hen. He left it wandering in his yard (out all night unprotected) and finally I offered to take her. She seems very sweet, but now I am not quite sure how to integrate her with our flock of 12 (11 girls and 1 rooster). She is much bigger then even our biggest girl, but I am not sure if that matters. She seems very passive. For now I have her in the coop and everyone else is free ranging. Any thoughts on what I should do when nightfall comes?

This is the hen we rescued. She is really tall. Anyone know what type of chicken she is? Thanks so much.

She look like a rooster, but I was told that let nature take it course. There going to be a pecking order, it natural, but don't let the other hen peck her to the point were blood drawn. I did this and my three hen are now close as ever

I've had BO HENS that look just like that
I wouldn't be in a rush to assign a gender just yet
I have several BO hens and one looks really similar to that, but the saddle feathers and spurs on this one really make me think roo. My hen has a HUGE red comb and big floppy waddles and even spur buds, but she has no saddle feathers.
