Just rescued some more Battery Hens *pics*

Anyone else find those upclose shots... almost disturbing? I mean its cool they come up to you... but they just have that crazed chicken look. lol

Edwina is officially a crazy chicken. I went to stroke her today and she squaked and started flapping at my had having a fight with it! I really wish i video'd it! Here feathers are starting to come back through!:

Ruby:

Bent down for one minute and Edwina was straight in there! If it was any other hen i would have pushed her off but she is growing her feathers back so if she didn't flap, i would have regretted it. So, i had to carry her all the way to the sheds!

Look at her coming running in the rain!:

And the deal is, if I provide eggs to some people there will be less eggs to be bought at the store. Therefore, some little tiny impact to the caging battery hens industry.

I did not get this whole connection until your thread. More backyard people with laying hens less awfulness at brutal farms.

The photos you have recently posted are hilarious! They really capture the energy of the 'Production Red', the funniest, friendliest, hungriest chicken around. I love the long distance shot, and then they get closer, and closer AND VERY VERY CLOSE INTO THE CAMERA. They are so happy! It makes me feel great looking at these girls being given a real chance at life.
