Just rescued some more Battery Hens *pics*

In all my years of hen keeping, Ruby is the only hen that I have ever had still laying at this time!

Well done for rescuing the hens. I have been rescuing hens for a few years. I love them they are so brave

Here are some of mine.

When I got them, the feathered hens are some of my previous ex bats and my welsummer.

They are so brave and friendly, also I found if you cross a bantam gold laced Wyandotte rooster with an ex bat hen you get a buff laced Wyandotte large fowl:

Thank you, very tame, they follow me around. They don't really know what roosters are meant to do when you first introduce them to one, they treat them like hens so beat them up when they try to mount them.
 
Ruby is the only hen I have ever had to lay past October. She is still laying now!
