Hi. No we don’t free range them, but they have a large enclosure, 24’ by 24’, plenty of room for the 6 of them.
Hi, do you free range your flock at all? How large is your coop and run? Sometimes they'll fuss with each other if they don't have enough room or something else to keep them occupied.
Best wishes!
Thanks!Welcome to BYC! Good luck with your bully girl.
We have six beautiful, prolific hens, 3 Blue Wyandotte and 3 Cuckoo Marans. Very sweet and a joy to care for... until recently. A lot of drama in our chicken run the past several weeks. One particular bully is stressing me out! She was recently the recipient of some bullying but has now become quite aggressive with my little favorite. Chasing and pecking her hard at every opportunity. Very distressing to see that behavior.
im not really set up to segregate her. Any thoughts at all in how to manage her?
Thanks!
My suggestion would be to take your aggressor out and put her in a cage for a few days then reintroduce her to the flock then the others will have reestablished their pecking order which would move her down. She may start up the behavior again then repeat and leave her out a little longer. It usually works. Good luck with your flock and have fun...
