Just set 17 Eggs in the Incubator!

Candling results a bit disappointing.

3 white leghorns hopeful, 1 doubtful, 2 no hopers;
3 exchequer leghorns hopeful, 3 no hopers;
all 6 lavender leghorns doubtful which is a shame.

My incubator has been spot on temperature and humidity, so I'm doing my best

Fingers crossed for the doubtfuls

I've got mixed feelings, but like to be just a little bit prepared.

I just wish I could buy day olds!!! The nearest option is a poultry auction where you can sometimes bid for a broody with chicks. It can be expensive and somehow seems very sad

I smashed my heating lamp yesterday, so these eggs had better hatch - I want ALL pullets and they MUST start laying in 4 weeks!

I candled a few eggs yesterday. Early, I know..but I just couldn't help myself. (3 days)

I saw veins in each one I looked at...an araucana, ameraucana, and 2 WCB Polish. Yay!

oh man this is too schaweet! I cant wait to do this when I can afford an incubator...which will probably not be until oct- nov this year.

Im going to try ducks next!! hehehehehee

Had trouble turning some of my eggs last night, they wouldn't stay where I wanted them to
