I have 5 eggs due to hatch on Saturday (day 26)- Monday (day 28). This year the hatch date has varied. Also have 5 more due to hatch in two weeks and I have another dozen to set.

Got a surprise this morning: the second broody peahen hatched out two chicks and left the nest. When I checked, there was a pipped egg lying there, the chick eyeballing me rather gloomily through the hole, plus four more eggs. The incubator was already stuffed full of chicken eggs and four more abandoned pea eggs, but what else could I do? The thirty chicken eggs are now all shoehorned into one side, and the pea eggs are stacked (cringe) on the other. And our little pipper hatched just an hour ago.

I sure hope one of the mommas will take him tomorrow, or he's going to be awfully lonely.

Of the remaining eight pea eggs, one looks like it's on the brink of internal pip, four are somewhere mid-stage, and three are awfully young. These doggone hens keep playing cuckoo-bird on each other--!

My egg thats due to hatch saturday is alive! It is rocking around like crazy, no peeping yet though. I'm so happy I thought we had killed the poor little thing with that horrible temp spike. Hope he makes it

That peachick is a cutie pie MinxFox. Good luck with your hatch Sunbaked. I just placed 10 eggs in my incubator last night. This is my first time hatching peacocks

I will be putting 14 eggs in the incubator tomorrow. Not sure how many are good eggs the person I got them from said they all should be less than 2 weeks old. this will be my first time incubating eggs. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

. The egg is pipped now, I'm sooo excited!! This is nerve wracking that's for sure. I keep picturing all the things that can go wrong. I swear I feel my hair turning grey from the stress

. I was not nearly as nervous when my first chickens hatched a few weeks ago.



Ooooh gratz C&Rman!! Keep us updated! Why oh why does it take a whole 28 days to hatch

I'm not so good with this patience thing, I wanna see babies.
