I picked up these Self Blue Old English Bantams yesterday... They did tell me that the hen isn't a good sitter which is nice to know, but I wish she was a brooder... (I saw a pair at the flea market three months ago and fell in love...)

Her sounds CRACK me up! She sounds like someone gargling or a very quite clearing of the throat!
These I've had for over a year... Three Barred Rocks we purchased and were luck that they all happened to be hens... The others were from my aunt when she was reported (after eight years and she didn't know) to the authorities for having chickens in the "city"... Mom got about 30 from her and the rest were split to friends and other relatives.
