Just showing off my rooster!

Thank you all so much, I am so proud of him. Especially since he is such a sweet gentleman to me.

If he was nasty, I probably wouldn't think so highly of him...

I absolutely love his beret-like comb.

I know! I call him my little special forces soldier!

I had a buff polish, with a head dress like Philip, (a very handsom boy himself!) but unfortunately he was my first and only casualty.

Oh my ! I am so sorry about Mick !
Do you mind if I ask what happened ?

If you don't want to answer, I certainly understand.

Could he have been named after Mick Jagger , by any chance?

And thank you for your compliment of my Phillip !

I don't know what I , or his Girls would do if something ever happened to him.

I've had a total of 3 casualities , none of which I could've helped.

I ordered from a Well Known hatchery , what was supposed to have been , 1 Favorelle hen and Roo and 2 PARTRIDGE COCHINS

Well , my babies arrived after being sent to the wrong address, and when I Finally did get them, they were HORRIBLY packed and had been bounced around so badly that the end result was , 1 hen with SPRADDLE legs , which I tried to save , but lost her the 2nd day , then the " Partridge Cochin " just was so weak from the trip , that she passed away the 3rd day !

So , it turns out that I was Not sent Partridge Cochins , but Partridge Rock hens!

Anyway, I still love my surviving hen just the same

Now my poor Favorelle Roo evidently " Banged " his head during the trip , and has

Slight " brain damage ". !

He's a Beautiful boy and adores His wife , Lucy , his travel mate and only surviving hen from their Ordeal traveling from that Horrible hatchery !

Sorry , just venting a bit.

Anyway , again Thank you for your compliment and So sorry for your loss.

How sad and tramatic to find your chicks in that condition! I don't know how I would have handled that! The hatchery I ordered from will not ship less than 25 chicks. I guess that's a good practice for packing reasons.
Mick was indeed named after Mick Jagger! He was doing his job as a rooster, and I'm pretty sure it was a fox that got him. I had just told my husband that I thought we should cut his feathers around his eyes because he washaving to cocking his head to see. I wish I had done it, because I think he wouldn't have been taken so easily had he been able to see better.

Bad chicken parenting on my part.
He was so fun to watch too, and I had even made a really cute video of him about a week before to the song "Moves Like Jagger" Wish I could post it on here, but it's too big and YouTube won't let me put it on because of the copyright on that song.

Anyway, now we can't hear that song without thinking of him...
