I should be happy to get rid of a few (this will bring me down from 27 to 23), but I feel kind of bad, like I'm abandoning my babies!

Luckily I've got time to figure out which ones I'm sending, as the person I'm selling them to isn't going to get them until end of July (I also sold him 30 guinea keets who won't be in until 7/31). I know they're just chickens and I've only had these babies for a week - but they've grown on me!

On the bright side though I have a total of 6 BO and 5 BR pullets, so I'll still have 4 BO and 3 BR when I'm done (he wanted more, but no way was I selling all of them!)

I can understand... I have too many and have to re-home some chicks.

I know what you mean, they do GROW on you, and it is hard to give them up. You wouldn't really think it would happen, but as you found out, it does. Like you said, you need to cut back some, and they will be going to a good home. Look at it like that. Best of luck to you.

In theory, I could keep them, the coop is big enough - but the person I sold them to sounds really nice, has had chickens before and knows what he's doing.

And I'm sure that because he'll only have four birds they'll get a lot more attention than they would here

(I just counted all the animals in my house tonight while on the phone with my sister - now I know why my family is questionning my sanity - I've got 29 chicks in brooders, four dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 gerbils and 2 boys (10 & 7) - and I'm a single mom - even I don't know how I get it all done!)

aww, that would be hard on me too. i just get so attached to the babies..lol but just know that the chicks are going to a good home, and that they're new owners will love them and take good care of them :]
