Hello all! My fiancé and I (set to get married in August) got settled into our new house on 3.6 acres in July. We are located in Colorado about 20mi N of Denver. Growing up my aunt and uncle had chickens. I fondly remember a unique little bird named Virgina that would lay the prettiest blue eggs (now I know it was an Ameraucana.) Ever since then I’ve wanted to own my own chickens. This February we made the plunge. We started out with 8. There are our 2 RIRs Ducky and GusGus, our 2 Ameraucanas Twitch and Lucy, our 2 Barred Rocks Sapphire and Ruby, and our two Sapphire Gems Chomper and Lila. They are about 6 weeks old and growing very fast.
Excited to join the community with lots of minds that can answer all my questions that I typically spend hours googling!
