Hello everyone!
I wanted to say hi from So Cal. I just joined BYC because I now have 6 babies 6 & 7 weeks now. I got them ( 2 buffs, 2 EEG's 1 Brahama & 1 I don't know...she was suppose to be a Brahama! ) when they were 1 & 2 weeks old.I have had chickens on and off since I was a kid, and just got back into them. Boy I sure have missed the fun of raising chicks and watching them grow!
I just had a problem with one of my buff's who got an impacted crop. Poor thing was impacted for almost a week from eating a feather. I did lots of research and figured out what was wrong with her. I gave her "save a chick" olive oil with a syringe and lots of massaging on her crop and finally the blockage moved. She is feeling better now, eating with the rest of her flock. She isn't 100% yet, but she is getting there. I wasn't going to give up on her and she was a fighter and we won!
Hope to be on here more meeting new chicken lovers!
