Just talked to our code enforcement officer

Even if you become an "outlaw" chicken owner, there's nothing wrong with that. Some of the greatest Americans were outlaws such as Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and Paul Revere ! All were considered outlaws by the English crown and marked for execution. As another BYCer noted "fight the good fight". A great American native leader, Chief Tawonka once said "We were free until we stopped fighting, now no one has freedom." Stand your ground, you have the BYC community behind you.

I know that none of my neighbors would care, as we are all very close knit, often sharing dinners when grilling, and baking for each other etc. I am just worried that I am backed up to a city park and don't want the police to freak out when they patrol the park at night.

Great links as well! I passed along a great article to my council member, but I am going to follow up with your great resources as well. The squeaky well gets greased first, right?

Best of luck MN Chicken!!! Around here, Winona has an ordinance for allowing 12 chickens and Rochester has an ordinance for allowing 3 chickens. Yet in many of the smaller farming community towns its forbidden.

That is what I am finding is the oddest thing. Chickens are allowed in St. Paul and Minneapolis....big cities, but in a small town like WBL, it is illegal.
