Very much a cockerel. The pointed saddle feathers give it away.

Yes. That and the brown patch on the top of the back right before the tail in your photo. You can see it pointed. Laced feathers are harder to see if they are pointed vs rounded given the feather pattern can make it hard to see at times. I also find the feathers in that area look much more fluid in a sense and love to drape down which is how I also ID it.
