Just want to share a special photo

What a sweet photo! I'd like to say something original, but that's what it is.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was comforting the other chick just to be lovey and nice. She gets that good behavior from her momma!

So glad you had your phone so you could take the picture. Thank you for sharing it with everyone.

I do know there are two different types; one type, they are born with. They typically don't live very long when they have this type. The 2nd type they get later, around 2-3 wks. of age. It's a deformation of the skull, and from what I've researched, there's really nothing you can do, except to keep the beak trimmed if necessary, and offer feed in a deep dish, etc. My girl is now 20 or 21 wks. old, and she's doing pretty good! Just watch your girl closely, and definitely don't ever hatch any of her eggs. Don't want to perpetuate those genes. But, she could end up being a sweetheart of a girl, and laying you good eggs! Good luck!

I had a crossbeck silkie that we named Crosby. Unfortunatley he did not make it past 3 months. His was really bad. His bottom beack was more than 90 degrees to his top beak and I think he just could not get enough to eat and drink. He was very special while he was here. He always followed me around, everywhere I went. I had him living in the barn where I could keep a special eye on him. Sadly the day he died, my Frizzle Cochin Bantam Roo (same age) would not leave Crosby's side until I picked Crosby up. Call me crazy, but those two were buddies from the day they arrived in the mail.
