we had 65 of them as a child

I wish dairy could still be like it was, smaller herds on pasture. I also was raised with a herd of 70 milking jerseys in a barn from 1872 but I think those days are long gone.

BYC has Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flocks or jerseys, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

I am making my first wheel of cheddar cheese. It is curing now and will be ready to try in 6 weeks. I hope it turns out!

Cheese making is so much fun once you get started you may never stop good luck with your first hard cheese I bet it'll be delish!

I've never done the web forum thing before so guess I'll just introduce myself Hi, I'm Vic and I've always loved anything bird related and have been raising chickens, ducks, quail, doves you name it since I was a kid. I also have a small herd (11) of jersey cows that I milk and make cheese.
