I have been lurking for awhile and have realy enjoyed the discussions on this board.
I never EVER thought I would be raising chicks, but here I am

I guess thats what can happen when you get a job at a feed store that sells chicks!
I was able to resist the cuteness for a few weeks until Lilly (light Brahm) came along.... She just had a way of looking right at me every time I had to get into the chick pen to get chicks for someone. So she came home with me along with Gabby( Delaware), who Im thinking might be a Gabe. Then the following week a co-worker told me I HAD to have a red sexlink (Tabitha) I brought two home one did not make it. It was not acting to well in the first place. So that ment I had to get another one...right. So my daughter picked out a Jersey giant and named her Olive, But the biggest impact on me has got to be the Silkies

I just love them. So pearl (white) and Jett (black) came home too.
Im really suprised how much my husband and daughter have gotten into the chicks too. My daughter goes out to the coup every night to tuck Olive in.
We are getting some more Silkies at the feed store soon, My husband and I have decided to get a few more, they are like potatoe chips.
Im hooked

Welcome to BYC HappyDawg. We're so happy to have you as a fellow chickenholic. Our family started out with 5 and right now it's at 20 and I've got 25 more coming around the second part of June. Yes, we are expanding the coop and the enclosed run. I had so much fun this morning with my girls and boys. After bringing them out some scratch with oatmeal in it, I brought out the BIG guns. Gotta love watching chickens play keep away with worms. We hope you have as much fun with them as we all seem to.

Hi I'm new here too. I have 18 chickens already and then bought 2 white silkies last night and then have 10 more babies coming soon. 4 delawares, 4 marans, 1 buff silkie, 1 blue silkie. Even my husband likes them told me they are the best pets, cheap to buy, easy to care for and they clean up the bugs around the yard! Twila
