Since I've had chickens people began to ask if I sell eggs. Well like duh!

I mean at the beginning no, but what to do with all those eggs. Plus if I can recoup a few bucks why not?

Well anyhow my reason for posting.

DW has a co worker whose DH has Eczema and was buying Organic eggs since he seemed to have less or less severe outbreaks or something like that. Anyhow they seems to help. So DW sold her some of my eggs and they were of course cheaper but seemed to help too.

(Now I do prefer Organic but can't afford the feed. At least not yet)

So the other thing that motivated me to drop in , is that I have a friend who didn't eat eggs because they made him sick. It just so happened that I gave him and his a dozen of my eggs and sure enough he ate them with no ill affects.

As most on here know I make it a habit to give new customers copies of literature expounding the virtues of Small farm eggs. I don't do anything special except that I don't use chemicals on my property. I look for more natural solutions to garden and yard problems. I also avoid "stressing" my chickens. I don't let the GK's chase or pester my birds. Like humans, stress kills. I love that my chickens gravitate to where ever I am , even if I'm not carrying a can of Scratch.

I practice Bio-Security and advise others to do the same. I also have learned the benefits of a "Closed" flock. It also helps to know what the government deems, "Free range" and "Organic" and "Pastured" chickens and eggs are. You will be surprised.

Well anyhow, I've rambled on as usual. I just thought you should know that backyard flock chickens can lay healthier eggs than commercial produced eggs.

Have a nice day and enjoy the heat.

I have a sister in cazenovia. Nice area. :)

I have 2 aunts who had terrible skin rashes. They were each told it was Psoriasis. One finally started an elimination diet to see what was the problem, she tested negative for any food allergies. She stopped eating chicken, the rash went away. The other aunt tried the same thing when my mom told her what happened with the other. Now she eats only naturally raised animals and doesn't have the problem. The other aunt still eats no chicken. I wonder if it's the feed, the stuff used in "plumping" for store-bought birds, or what.

Sudden escalation of food allergy rates is really scary and makes me wonder. Good luck with your chickens!

There's a craft sale in Caz this weekend and I hope to go.

I know that when I do dishes by hand I have an itching problem on my arms. Convenient I know, but we did put in a dishwasher this past month.

I do think there are allergies more than I remember as a kid. I'm old so I've seen a few changes in what we eat.

Did I mention that I give out literature on Home Grown eggs. Plus other info on the health of pasture fed chickens. One article is about trying to get the USDA to ban anitbiotics in commercial chicken. It could be Auntie is allergic to something in that line.
