I would have said rooster based on comb but could it be a pullet about to lay? I don't see the male feathering in the back.

Tail looks like a rooster's! You should have an egg by now if it was/is a hen...any crowing?

Note the back of comb on the single comb bird above. That part that stick out behind the head is call a blade. Pullets don't have those, the back of comb is attached to head. You've got a cockerel.
