Can't argue with that- it took me several years to learn to build the coop BEFORE I got the chickens!

It's just that DH and I don't try to persuade or manipulate each other. We are equal partners for the most part, especially regarding major purchases. But even with chickens I tell him beforehand, and when he wants more coins he tells me. Then we see if the budget can handle it. I used to be really impulsive, but I sure have mellowed at 53!

DH tore not one but both rotator cuffs building my current coop. Long story, but having almost died from systemic e.coli and the drugs they used to combat it has left him with problems that now look as if they will be permanent.
My next coop will be pre-built and I will pay for it, as soon as my jeep is paid for in the spring.

Hi Renee' and all !!!

Don't you just HATE laws and rules when it comes to our addictions ?
I do live in the country...but the new 'CITY' folks that are moving in think that they can rewrite all the rules. I live in cranberry country with lots of bogs and we're considered agruculture.
DH has the coop almost finished for my 6 RIR. I have 6 Banties and asst 25 pullet babies due either Thurs or Fri. I really DID tell him I had ordered them....but I don't know if he remembers. Is that MY fault ?? LOL
He's a good sport. As long as I don't take his motorcycle away..... We both have bikes and I told him I was going to train one of the girls to roost on the handle bars. Then I'll have to make her a biker outfit.
My next thing is to get a few Guinea keets. I'm just concerned about them going over my 4' chain link fence. I intend to clip a wing. Want to be able to let them eat bugs etc. We have about 3/4 of an acre that is fenced..the rest is not. Don't want them to end up in somebody's stew pot !

I think she got so distracted by BYC Forum, she forgot her brother's Birthday.

When I was married, my ex always got jealous when I got a new pet.

I had to wait till I was single and on my own before I got chickens. So happy I no longer have to ask someone, beg someone, plead with someone to make my dreams a reality. Life is good.
