what are you paying for grown chickens(laying of course) in your area

I have only seen a few advertisements for laying hens, and they are usually already gone by the time I call on them. I think it depends on the age of the layer. I called on six (14 months) 1 year old golden sex links with feed, waterer and feeder for $25...I thought that was a real steal but they were already gone after only 30 minutes on Craigslist. The folks said they had to get rid of them fast because they were moving. I think that $10-12 is about the normal rate around here for a young layer, you can't give them away if they are older than 3 years old. Mine are 18 weeks old now so, I'm just going to wait for them to lay themselves instead of trying to add to my flock. Good luck!

Ive paid any where from $3.00 to $10.00 per hens (all close to a year old). Roos have been free.
