Kane is hurt! Vet appt. made

I hesitate to say this, but I thought our guy had a foot injury too...until he started popping when he walked. It didn't seem to be the hip, and I couldn't tell anything was wrong with the knee, but he reacted to me trying to examine his feet.

Looking back, I think the reason was that he just generally doesn't like you messing with his feet, and trying to get his foot in a position where I could see it more clearly probably worked his knee around a little too much....so, I thought it was a foot.

Having said that........I really, really, really hope it's simply something minor going on with his foot in your case.

Honestly, I think it is probably not his foot either. He is at the prime age for issues like Hip Dysplasia or OsteoChondritis dessicans to show up. GSD males are also notorious for Panosteitis, a painful inflammation of the long bones.

If this were my pup I would be having exrays done, fast.

A couple broken "toes" (phalanges). Kane isn't as quick as Jax; apparently his foot got stepped on by a cow. Healing well.

Poor little boy couldn't get out of the way of a cow!?

I'm so happy it was broken toes and they are healing nicely! Little boys can be such dweebs. His pride was also injured, I bet, because I'm sure Jax laughed at him!

Well, basically, that makes ME feel better.

Kane needs heavy motivation (read:food) to move, anywhere. Apparently beef still on the hoof is not appetizing enough. Any wonder that he's just 5 days shy of being 6 months old and only about 15 lbs. lighter than Jax?
