Thanks guys. We were holding out hope that we could possibly turn around whatever was wrong with him but it wasn't meant to be.

So sorry for your loss! I do have a question though - how do you sex goslings that are not sex-linked? Did you vent sex them? I am wanting to know the gender of mine...

What kind are your goslings? I learned how to vent sex so now I can do several babies in a matter of moments.

It is an African. I am placing an order for some from the hatchery this coming week, and I want 1 cander and three geese. Knowing this little girl's gender will definately help me out.

arherp: It's basically done in the same way you would do rabbits, though probably a bit more gently

If you aren't used to doing it though, you'll probably think you've done it wrong, unless you happen to have a boy. The only one I've ever done turned out to be a girl, as I thought, but that doesn't tell me if I did it right

Ok, so I tried it... looks half like a boy. I am really just too scared to do anything very hard...

Anyone want to come do it for me? I am in North Central KY. (Louisville). It would totally be a fun weekend trip!

If something 'poked out' at you, chances are it's a boy.

Thanks F2F! She's right. I thought I was doing it wrong. Then I realized that I was sexing all girls. LOL When I did get a boy, then I knew all the others were girls!
