Karo Syrup?

Has anyone ever had any problems giving Karo syrup to ducklings or chicks? I know it has been used forever. I have given it on occasion, but I never noticed until today that it has vanilla flavoring in it (not that this is necessarily bad, IDK).

The bottle says it is the original formula so I imagine it is fine. Maybe I have just never noticed before?
