Kate! Kate to the Nigi help desk!

One more thought - she once was very agile. She could climb or hop out of any place you put her - even a 5 foot stall topped with wire! Now she can't.

the heaveier she gets the less they seem to do ...mine get real lazy and sometimes that warns me they are getting close...just keep a eye on her...mine yell at me when its time, maybe she will too. Aslo check her ligaments she might be ready and that is a sure sign.

So she DOES have a little udder? Ok...

I have a FF due 3/22 who has a cute little baby apple sized udder now.

Copper deficiency doesn't just show by color fading...also check the tail hair - copper deficiency gives them a 'fish tail' where the hair on the very tip of the tail falls out. Chaty already hit on how to dose it.

MP I'm afraid that your large breed boys might have gotten this girl. If you bought her 9/25 - then 150 days from then was yesterday. Granted, they can go over 150...but not by much.

It is snowing here. I have to go out to check her this morning. To the best of my knowledge the buck didn't but if he did it would be when she climbed out and escaped repeatedly when she first came here! Grrrr!

Update - she is not flat this morning. She feels rounded like an apple and her teats feel squishy if that makes sense.

MP I am avidly watching this thread. I'm a goat know nothing, so I live vicariously through you all. But what I want to tell you is the juxtaposition of your avatar combined with the content of your last post is resulting in a lot of cracking up over here.

I know what you mean. Squishy udder is her starting her udder. She may be one of those does who suddenly drop and udder and then Kid....OR...She might not kid for another month. It is common for does to start building their udder a month before delivery but you always have some that are rebels and like to keep you hoppin' by doing it suddenly.
Watch for a goopy discharge. It may start out white at first.
I had a doe kid yesterday that was 5 days late. I knew the exact date she was bred. Her kids were really big when they came.
