Kaye's free range turkey thread

Laid or hatching? I have zero eggs either way. Mine don't usually start laying until about April.

I did watch a young blue hen attempting to mate a butternut squash like she was a male. I didn't ask any questions.

If you do a search for the protein content of hard boiled eggs, you will find that eggs are not a high protein source.  The reported protein value of hard boiled is usually around 12% protein.  I am sure that there are good reasons to feed the eggs but thinking that it is increasing the protein is false.
You are correct, the reason for feeding back eggs is for the other nutrients they contain, the vitamins and minerals

Only Bourbon Reds. 24 of them about.
Oh yeah, a couple of posts ago, sorry, been a long weekend. That is strange they lay so much. Mine stop in the fall to molt than don't resume until about April.

Do they get extra artificial light? Of course I only know what mine do. That's very impressive.

Earlier in the thread I said that I sold hatching eggs on eBay to pay for the feed and expenses. It works well but this time I come across a monster. He incubated them for 2 weeks saw that only 2 were developing and threw them all in a garbage bag, a complete waste of eggs. Look at the picture that they sent me. The others probably were scrambled during shipping. Why did he do this though???. (He only bought 4 eggs but I sent 6)
WARNING CRACKED DEVELOPED EGGS.

Your photos isn't showing up, probably a good thing. I often wonder what is wrong with people, that is sad.

It is amazing how much your turkeys lay. Where did you get them?
