Question: In your opinion-ASIDE from showing and maybe the comb is too large and is impairing sight - why do people dub birds? Especially OEGBs. It makes them look funny.

It was done as a way to give the dubbed bird an edge over a non dubbed bird in fighting. Once fighting was outlawed fanciers still dubbed their cocks so it just became part of the standard.
