Can’t wrap my mind around why people don’t like silkies. "Walking dust mop"... Kk, looks aren’t everything. And they have some of The sweetest dispositions. :love

For me, it's a combination of all the factors below:

-Walking swiffer
-Get dirty very easily
-Very stupid
-No predator awareness
-Too broody
-Every male I ever met was a devil
-No immune system whatsoever
-Can't handle the cold
-Can't handle the heat
-Easy targets for bullying

And lastly
Why the cluck would I want a stuffed animal lookalike for a chicken?

Also I don't like anything that becomes a fad. Especially an animal. Thus my dislike for all things oodle, labrador or golden retriever.

So, first of all - they don’t get dirty THAT easily, I haven’t had to bathe mine yet. Neither has my friend. They’re the only ones in my flock who DIDN’T succumb to a respiratory issue. They handled 95F+ heat without issue. Not too broody... well, actually maybe I just LIKE their broodiness. My male has been nothing but a gentleman to me and his ladies.

And I think they’re adorable. But again, looks aren’t everything. :p

Good that yours are hardy.

I'm just stating from my experiences with the breed, which were not positive.
