Ghost town here, eh? 👻

Anyways, I wanted to let @Brahma Chicken5000 know that I did not forget about letting a broody raise meat birds.

Today, I went my TSC and got 2 LF Partridge Cochins, 2 LF barred Cochins, 1 LF Lavender Orp, and... 1 Cornish Cross for my broody. It’s a chunky little chick. I would’ve gotten more but let’s be honest, when worse comes to worse, I’m not gonna be able to cull more than one of the meaties if necessary. The CX gets a home here as a pet. Purely a pet until health issues arrise then I suppose I will cull it. It’s a cute little thing, and it likes people.

As for my flock I have a tonnnnn of keets and more due soon. I’m overloaded with ducklings, and chicks. Plus I have 5 broodies- and 3 have babies! Haha! Bird math 😁

If you let the CX be a real chicken, foraging rather than parked and stuffing its face, it has potential to have none of the "traditional" health issues associated with CX. Good luck
It’ll have 16+ acres to free range just like the rest of my birdies! Hopefully that’s a real chicken :p

Adorable!

I got some new goslings yesterday.

Aren’t they just the cutest?! Any new pea chickies?

I thought you had 12? Cuz in that case it wouldn't be true free ranging.

I hear you have game fowl? How'd you beat me to the cheese? I still can't find and new genetics for my birds. That's awesome though.

I think you will be pretty happy with them. For me they are easy to keep, besides the constant trapping that is needed to for keeping predators down. They free range for most of they day.

Expansion! We got a bit fo the woods cleared. There’s a total of 22 acres we own. That’s what the plus sign is for ;)

We have folks coming next week to level out ground. :D Also I sold ALL my extra cockerels. Sold tons of ducklings, and have loads more. Plus keets are coming outta the wazoo! Not to mention chicks too. I have a few people wanting ducklings. A man wants about 20 for his pond. Those are due to hatch here next week. A lady wants 2 pairs of ducks for fun. She should be taking those soon.

I really need to take pictures for you guys. :p
