Maybe you could build up on them. But you gotta do it fast. I know you have only 1 girl, so hold out on saving the eggs for about 12 days at a time (it can be done, I promise). And go from there. Sell or raise for breeding, and then sell out when you’re faced with the final decision so that way you’ll have made a nice profit.
That's what I'm thinking. And, tbh, I think I'll be euthanizing extra males really young.
I don't want to deal with like 20 boys at once and they never sell as well as the girls.
 
I just had a thought.
In February I could hit up my contact in CT again, buy another dozen eggs and keep back all pullets and 2 cockerels from him. National championship lines, from him.

Then I can sell 1 male with all females from CT and the other with maybe 2-4 of my first hatched pullets locally to improve local lines.

And the CT group can be sold with my original pair.

I'm not sure if that will pan out, but it might give me more birds to work with and allow me to troubleshoot a few things.
