Eek! Do I use the ameraucana rooster or the hens in the cross? Or does it matter?

It’s easier to use the Ameraucana cock as you can put him over hens that lay varying shades of white and brown eggs to get varying shades of blue and green eggs in his daughters. You could even keep other hens with the Ameraucanas as long as they don’t lay blue eggs.
