I probably will. Only 2 are identical, which is good. Maybe one will be pink and the other orange or blue banded. Question- do you band all of your birds? Or just some of them (for identification purposes)?
All of my birds are banded. Well except for Charlotte as I removed her zip tie when I was treating her legs for mites. It’s my way of making them mine and they don’t seem to be bothered by the band. I make sure that it is loose enough to rotate around the leg without constricting it but not too loose that it can slip up the hock. My Ameraucanas are banded as they are identical and so are the Araucanas. When I have my own property I will be banding all my birds to keep track of breeders, culls, and age of laying hens. I will also wing band my breeders once I have some. :D

I felt terrible this morning:oops: When I went outside I found that Opal (red sex link hen) was out of the coop. I forgot about her yesterday!! :th Poor girl, she got left out of the coop, but it was my fault. :hmm Luckily She’s okay and there aren’t too many predators around here. I usually do a head-count before locking everything down, but yesterday I didn’t. Of course.
How many coops do you have for your chickens?
It might be easier to build a large henhouse and covered run for all your chickens and then use the extra coops for keeping cockerels and other birds that you are taking to auction or quarantining or integrating.

Coop 1: Old English Game Bantams
Coop 2: ducks
Coop 3: all the largefowl except for Dottie (ameraucana).
Coop 4: The rest of the bantams & Dottie.

And then the guineas have their “coop”. :D

Yes, it would be easier, but I prefer to keep my bantams and largefowl separate. Eventually I’ll integrate all the bantams in one big coop, and the same for the largefowl.

The cockerels are in a temporary coop setup thing until Friday (can’t wait until Friday!)

When will you make your Bantam and large fowl coops? If you fly me down to Alabama I’ll help you over the summer
How long have you been keeping chickens for Kayla?

Eventually is the answer I keep getting. I was supposed to start it months ago, but things always came up.

Lol, sure. But you wouldn’t survive a week with my mom. She’s possibly the most annoying person I’ve ever met. :D Always something with her. But you’d enjoy the chickens I guess. And my uncle, he’s great. Basically the father figure I never had. :P

I’ve been around chickens since 2015. That’s when I started actually getting involved with my uncle’s chickens. I enjoyed going over to his house and helping him to feed & water his chickens. Finally, in May of 2016, I ordered some baby chicks. :wee

How long have you been chicken keeping?
