Oh. If mine had been out of water right now, I'd suppose they'd just drink the puddles. Fortunately, I can easily get into the coop, so it isn't a problem. Shutting the door is beyond help.
Once a Silkie got stuck in a cage for a week and a day without food or water because Dad didn't know she was in there, and Silkies are dumb enough they don't let you know things. So we figured she had walked off and died. A sad event.
But we found her and made sure she ate and drank a lot and more than a year later she's still the prettiest Silkie to walk the flock.
We keep them for broodies or pets, but they don't really excel at either, in my opinion. But they are fun to show off.
