Anyone have an idea of the odds that eggs are fertile if covered by an inexperienced cockerel? I don't want to crack any eggs to find out, but I'm hoping the odds are better than 50/50. Tunisia appears to have some wear on her sweep.
Cockerels are eager fellows.

Oh dear. Then again my bantam breeding cages are way smaller.
They are free ranged for the rest of the year tho.
Luna needs entertainment or loves cause she's egg eating.

Eww :sick

Beak trimming isn’t as bad or permanent like debeaking but I still feel that it shouldn’t be done.
Tell that to Big Mama. I trim her beak frequently because it is like a very long dagger thing that doesn't stop growing. Like fingernails on steroids. She looks sad, but she is always happy that I trim her beak.
It was the bath that depressed her.

It was the guineas picking out my Ameraucana rooster’s beard! :barnie They do it through the wire, and the guineas free range all day so there isn’t really a way to prevent it. :hmm
So rude!
I hate it when my bearded fowl (and I own a lot of them) get their beards picked out! And there's nothing you can do to stop them! Then the poor chicken has an ugly, pink, naked neck.
